3 CONT It is with sadness that I inform the diocesan family that Fr Denys Tonks died suddenly at his home on Monday.
3 CONT Please keep his family and friends in your prayers. Fr Denys had appointments as Rural Dean and Canon of the
3 CONT Cathedral as well as being Rector of Rupanyup, St Johns Ballarat and Warrnambool. He was also a hospital Chaplain
3 CONT and assisted as a Locum. He came to the diocese after serving the Church in various parts of the West Indies and
3 CONT then a parish in Perth, WA. I recall his friendly welcome to me when I arrived in the diocese, his quirky sense
3 CONT of humour and his clear devotion to priestly ministry. Rest eternal grant to Fr Denys, O Lord, and may light
3 CONT perpetual shine upon him.
