1 NOTE On the failure of his health, Abel Alleyne was advised to try a cooler climate
2 CONC of New England so he went to Boston, Mass, with his family in 1739, afterwards
2 CONC removing to Braintree, later called Quincy, Mass. ("Antiently known by name of
2 CONC Mount Wollaston").

He built a large house on Milton Hill, Mass. which was afterwards demolished.
1 NOTE Will dated 10 Oct 1744 of Abel Alleyne of the Parish of St. John Barbados. To be
2 CONC buried in the vault in St. James Church as near to my father as possible. I give
2 CONC to the best of women and most affectionate wife and tenderest parent Mary Alleyne
2 CONC all my plate, jewels, etc., whatever money I have by me at my death or what is
2 CONC owing me then. Profits on my estate called Mount Standfast to be divided amoung the
2 CONC children after payin wife's marriage settlement of 400 pounds per annum. Wife and
2 CONC children to have accommodation in dwelling house at Mount Standfast. I would be
2 CONC understood in regard to my children living on my Estate or in my dwelling-house,
2 CONC that my meaning is not that if they should marry that they then should live there
2 CONC and no longer than they are single, excepting my son Reynold who shall not be master of
2 CONC my house, but my best of Wives, Mistress. But no other child shall have the liberty
2 CONC of bringing his wife or husband there to live. N.B. I do not mean that whether it be
2 CONC agreeable to my dear wife or not that my son Reynold and his wife shall live on my
2 CONC Estate or in my dwelling-house with her, but it shall be at her election whether she
2 CONC shall consent to or admit of it.

2 CONC Executrix and Excutor, Wife and son Reynold Alleyne; in case of both their deaths, then
2 CONC sons John Alleyne, Thomas Alleyne, and Timothy Henry Peers Alleyne.
