Lance Cpl, NZ Mounted Field Ambulance Army Record (microfiche of WWI nominal roles) shows Single, Home Address given as 9 Egmont St Hawera. Next of Kin E.F. Burrowes (Father) 9 Egmont St, Hawera. Joined Wellingtons after being rejected by the Aucklands after admitting he had asthma. Took a train to Palmerston North and reapplied, this time not mentioning the asthma.
Hence he did not serve with his brother in the Auckland Mounted Rifles.
