Nb. on a marble tablet against a pier in the nave: To the memory of Mrs Mary Knowles,
daughter of John and Mary Alleyne of Barbados and wife of Capt. Charles Knowles,
who departed this life March the 16th 1741/2 in the 22 year of her age. Prov. 31
verse 26. "When she opened her mouth it was with wisdom and in her tounge was the
law of kindness." Below in relief is a small figure recumbent, a child in her lap
and below "jurando consumior."
