    Nb. OBITUARY MRS A. M. BURROWES SANSON, May 20 (Manawatu Standard 20 May 1936)
    The death occurred at New Plymouth, recently, of an old and highly esteemed resident of Sanson in the person of Mrs Annie Maria Burrowes.
    She was born in Gloucestershire in 1865 and came to New Zealand at the age of 12 in a sailing ship after a voyage of 81 days.
    Her first home was in Canterbury and she married Mr A. Burrowes in 1887.
    Mrs Burrowes took up her residence in Sanson 18 years ago and except for a short period, has resided there almost continuously.
    She is survived by her husband, two daughters - Mrs W. McConachie and Miss E. Burrowes, both of Sanson - and
    one son - Mr S. Burrowes, of New Plymouth. A daughter predeceased her several years ago and one son made the supreme
    sacrifice in the Great War.
