Nb. Will dated Decr. 1753 of William Gibbes of St. Michael, Barbados, leaves everything to
wife Alice Christian Alleyne (during her widowhood) including the Spring, Black Rock
and Small Hopes Plantations. If grandson William Gibbes Alleyne shall attain the age of
of 23 during wife's widowhood she shall deliver to him either the Spring Plantation or
the Black Rock Plantation which she shall think fit. If grandson Thomas Alleyne shall
attain the age of 23 years during wife's widowhood she shall deliver to him Small Hopes
Plantation. Bequeaths money due from son-in-law Thomas Alleyne to wife Alice Christian
Alleyne during widowhood, ceasing to be a widow, unto daughter Susanna Alleyne, widow
if she marries, to her children. My several grandchildren Vizt. Susanna Alleyne,
Reynold Alleyne.
To grand-daughter Alice Christian Walker, 2,000 pounds. Granddaughter Susanna Alleyne
2,000 pounds. John Holder Alleyne grandson 2,000 pounds. Reynold Alleyne, grandson,
2,000 pounds. Thomazin Isabella Alleyne, gran-daughter, 2,000 pounds. Grand-daughter-in-law
Lucy Alleyne wife of Mr Reynold Alleyne 100 pounds. Store at Reids Bay belonging to
Plantation Small Hopes be always kept in repair. William Gibbes nephew 10 pounds per
annum. Gives wife authority to sell any of the old or bad slaves.
