Nb. In Christ Church, Barbados is a blue marble tablet with this inscription. Crest: Out of a ducal coronet a horse's head over a wreath and helmet. Arms: per chevron gules and and ermine two lions heads erased Or. here lies the body of Reynold Alleyne of Mount Alleyne in the Parish of St. James Esq. who departed this Life the thirtieth Day of June Anno Domini 1749 aetatis 49.

Nb. Was educated at Westminster School. The School records show: Alleyne, Reynold, fifth of Thomas Alleyne of the parish of St. James in the Island of Barbados; B. Adm. (aged 15) Sept. 1715; in under school list 1716; inherited the plantation of Mount Alleyne in Barbados. mar. a daughter of Lawrence Price; d. in Barbados June 30 1749. Nb. Reynold Alleyne was Member of the Assembly for St. James 1723-1725, 1734-1744

Nb. The Will dated 29 June 1749 of Reynold Alleyne of the Parish of St. James, Barbardos. To my daughter Judith Alleyne 2,000 pounds to make her equal to my daughter Elizabeth Newton, wife of John Newton Esq., to who I gave the like sum upon her marriage with the said John Newton. My daughters Elizabeth Newton and Judith Alleyne to share equally in my real estate etc.
Executors-John Newton, son-in-law, Daughters Elizabeth Newton and Judith Alleyne.

Nb. For lack of a better place to record this:-
Will of Elizabeth Hannay of Christ Church, Barbados, Widow. Dated 12 Nov 1755. Entered 27 Nov 1755. Proved 28 Sept 1756 by John Newton Esq. Power reserved to others.

100 pounds to Poor of Parish of Christ Church. Grand-daughter Judith Alleyne 100 pounds a year and 12,000 pounds, plate, furniture, chariot and four horses. Mrs Prudence Hart widow 6 pounds a year. All residue to my grand-daughter Elizabeth wife of John Newton Esq. The latter and Judith Alleyne, Executors. Witnesses:- John Philips, Henry Durant. John Ramsey. (247 Glazier. Sommerset House. London, Eng). This must be Elizabeth's mother as Reynold's mother was Judith Thornhill.

Nb. marriage cert reads: Reynold Alleyne Esq. of St. James Parish and Miss Elizabeth Price of Christ Church parish married 12 Nov. 1721 by Mr Gordon.

Nb. Where in the wall of the North Cloister is a marble memorial with the following inscription:- Sacred to the memory of Judith Alleyne Daughter of Reynold Alleyne of Mount Alleyne in the Island of Barbados Esqr. who departed this life, July 11 1763 Aged 36.
