Nb. In 1737 John Alleyne went to England and died soon after arriving in London. A notice of his death appeared in the Gentlemen's Magazine. "Col. John Alleyne of Bockhall (Rock HALL) Barbados died in Gracechurch Street. Lately arrived. 29 Nov 1737."

John Alleyne of the Parish of St. Peter's Barbados. To be "buried in a prudent frugal manner." Gives his wife Mary Alleyne her riding horse and saddle, gold watch and chain, diamond rings, locket and jewels etc. besides slaves; and her accommodation in his mansion house. Gives executors power to buy and sell sugar, slaves, etc. To son Thomas Alleyne at 21 years 1,800 pounds also negroes. To daughter Judith Alleyne at 18 years 1,200 pounds, also negroes. His children to be maintained and educated. Residue of estate to son Peers Alleyne. Executors and guardians of minor children. Honourable Henry Peers, Abel Alleyne Esq. my father-in-law. Reynold Alleyne esq., my brother, until son Peers Alleyne is of age. Signed John Alleyne.

Nb. Will of Peers Alleyne dated 24 July 1747. To sister Judith Alleyne 1,000 pounds at age of 20 years. To relation Thomas Alleyne of St. James, 2,300 pounds. To friend John Eyre of Wynchester, Eng. Clerk, 300 pounds. To Friend and relation John Lyte Esq. 100 pounds. To six friends to be appointed and approved by executors 20 pounds apiece for mourning. Servant Thomas Osbourne 50 pounds. All real estate to brother Thomas Alleyne at 21. Executors: John Lyte, relation Thomas Alleyne, Uncle Reynold Alleyne until brother Thomas is 21 years, then he to be sole executor. To executors and friends John Gay Alleyne and Dr. Reynold Alleyne 20 pounds apiece to buy mourning. Signed Peers Alleyne.
