Nb. He was given a warrant by the Governor of Barbados to practise as a surveyor of lands,
'he having satisfied William Webster, the Surveyor General, of his proficiency,
10 March 1732'. In June of the same year, Thomas Curtis Pollard, (at the request of the
vestry of the parish and by virtue of his Excellency's warrant), made an accurate
survey of the old St. Michael church yard and from thence discovered considerable
encroachment to have been made within the old bounds; the particulars of which are
shown by this certificate. (The 1st Survey was made in 1658 (B.M.H.S. Journal Vol. XX,
