WIll of John Pollard of St. Philip parish, Barbados. Abstract:-
To my wife Susannah Pollard, she maintaining my children during their
minority; all my lands, buildings and slaves for her life and at her decease to my
daughter, Mary Gould Pollard, six slaves (named) at 21 and also 500 pounds to be paid
her 3 years after my son John Robert Pollard shall come into possession of my estate.
To my wife the interest on money due to me by Captain John Smith during her life, and
after her death I give it to my said daughter Mary Gould Pollard 300 pounds and slaves
to be sold to make up her legacy to 800 pounds.After my wife's death to my son
John Robert Pollard at 21 all the residue of my estate and failing his issue one half to
my wife and one half to my natural daughters, and if wife not living, then all natural born
daughters. Dated 21 Nov 1777. Witnesses:- Nathaniel Curtis Pollard, Jonathan Franklin Snow,
Joseph Taylor, Jesias King. Proved 19 Mar 1778.
