Nb. Abel is a name which appears in the Alleyne Tree several times.
The first was an Abel Alleyne, a member of the Barbados Council and
a lieutenant general in that Island. b early 1700's.

A.A.Burrowes went to Guiana as A.D.C. to the Governor.

BURROWS - On the 6th of June, in Main Str., Sarah Maria, widow of the late Abel Alleyne Burrows, aged 75 years.

Nb. This marriage is listed in Burke's The Landed Gentry 1952 Vol 2 on page 2837.
The marriage and a list of their children can be found in "The Journal of the Barbados
Museum and Historical Society" 1958 in an article by W.B.Pollard called "William Pollard of
Devon and the West Indies and Some of his Descendants". List of children also supplied
by Emmelie Burrowes @I99@. She failed to list Marian, but included another daughter Georgina.
Nb. Confirmed from details of Parents on their son Edwin's Marriage Cert. and Later from church
Register Fol. 392 entry 460 obtained from Westminster Archives Microfiche Roll labeled
St George Hanover Square, Vol 27 & 28: N.b. The church was then in the county of Middlesex.
Abel Allyene Burrowes and Sarah Maria Pollard both of this Parish were married in
this Church by Banns this ninth day of July in the year 1834 by me Edwin Dennifs (?)
B.C.L. Curate. This marriage was solemnized between us: (Signed by Abel and Sarah)
in the presence of: (Signed by William Beattie & Anna Watson).
