1 CONT John was a cabinet maker, who lived at Gipps Street, Collingwood,
1 CONT before he was married. After they were married they lived in
1 CONT Alphington, where they had a property. On the property they had a
1 CONT horse, a cow, and plenty of fowls, a pedigreed stock for which
1 CONT Johnny was famous for, a room full of canaries and a dog and cats.
1 CONT The family loved animals throughout their lives and later they
1 CONT bought a farm property at Pearcedale where they raised Pedigreed
1 CONT Angora Goats, at a time when their hair was considered very
1 CONT precious. They sewed the ribbons they won together and made a rug,
1 CONT they also won Cups.
