SourceNb. Will of Reynold Alleyne dated 7 Sept. 1756. Of the Parish of St.James and Island of
Barbados. To be buried in the family vault at St. James Church. All my father's debts
and all my own debts be paid out of Mount Standfast estate. To my dearly beloved
and most affectionate wife, Christian Mercy Alleyne, all negro slaves, all plate,
jewels, household goods, property, money etc. Bequeath slaves Pretty Boy and Jenny
to eldest son of friend John Denny Esq. and Eliza Denny wife. Wife 2,000 pounds. To
much respected and esteemed Mother Mary Alleyne of New England 100 pounds for mourning.
To sister Jane Isabella Winston (Winslow) 400 pounds. To sister Benjamina Woodbridge
Alleyne 400 pounds. To brother Thomas Alleyne 400 pounds. To brother Timothy Henry Peers
Alleyne 500 pounds and a negro man of 40 pounds value to be bought out of the yard. To
sister Abel Dudley Alleyne 500 pounds and 2 negro girls of 25 pounds value to be bought
out of the yard. To sister Isabella Elizabeth Alleyne 400 pounds. To good friend Robert
White 50 pounds for mourning. To good friend Richard Denny 50 pounds for mourning. To
brother John Alleyne Esq. all the rest and residue of estate real and personal. I advise
and direct him as a friend and tender brother that as soon as some difficulties may
arise in the performance of this my will and testament and intention that on the decease
of my respected Mother he sell the estate for its full value and make himself and his
friends herein mentioned easy and satisfied that he may live with a calm breast and with
and a quiet mind. Executors and Executrix: Brother John Alleyne, friend John Collins Esq.,
