Obituary Mr C.S. Forbes
(Special) Auckland, Dec 10. The death occurred in Auckland
recently of Mr Charles Sydney Forbes, second son of Mr Robert
Forbes, of Lyttelton, and brother of the former Prime Minister,
Mr G.W. Forbes. Born in 1867, he trained as an engineer with
Scott Brothers, and after electrical experience in Australia at
the Coolgardie mines, he returned to New Zealand. He supervised
early electric tramway installations in Wellington and Dunedin, and
later he farmed on the Cheviot estate near the home of his brother.
He married Eileen Hart, younger dauer of Mrs M.B.Hart of Christchurh,
and is survived by his widow and two children - Mr Brennan Forbes,
and Mrs Kenneth Wilkin, both of Auckland.
