Mr Robert Burrowes, of Stradone, county Cavan,
Whose death is recorded to-day as having happend a few
days since at his seat in Ireland, in the 72d year of his
age, was the eldest son of the late Major Thomas Burrowes,
of Stradone, by his marriage with Susan, daughter of the
Rev. Henry Seward, of Badsey, Warwickshire. He war born in
the year 1810, and was educated at Harrow, and subsequently
at Magdalen College Cambridge. He was a magstrate and
Deputy-Lieutenant for Cavan, of which he served as High Sheriff
in 1858. He sat in the Conservative interest for Cavan county
from 1855 to 1857, when he retired. He Married, in 1838, Miss
Ann Frances Craven, only daughter of the late Mr. John Craven,
of Barnane, county Tipperary, by whom he has left a family.
